SOMS student council has a heart
Staff and students had a chance to decorate heart-shaped cookies during lunchtimes last week at Savanna Oaks Middle School. This was the second year the student council has hosted this event.
On Feb. 14-15, the student council hosted Hoops for Heart, which is sponsored by the American Heart Association.
Every grade had a chance to be active for 70 minutes. It featured six stations for eighth-graders and seven stations for sixth- and seventh-graders.
Stations included basketball games, jump rope, hula hoops and yoga/core. Several student council members helped run the station throughout the day.
The council is raising money for the American Heart Association. Students who raise $10 get a free T-shirt and a free ticket for the Milwaukee Bucks.
